What is this?
At Zola’s Thursday: THE OUTLAW FOLKSY WAILS!
I reckon so. Around here we got something known as a Brookings Folk Ride. I’m not just gonna whistle Dixie, I’ll be pulling out the old finger picking six-stringer and firing out some real live folk music this Thursday, September 23rd, 6 - 8pm on a sunny evening down at Zola’s On The Water.
Along for the that Ride will be legendary guest renegade Patty-Anne Da’Cunha, wanted in all 36 Oregon counties for fine lead vocals, terrific harmonies and great guitar work.
Between my shooting out songs by such folk desperadoes as Neil Diamond, John Prine, Peter Paul & Mary, Tom T. Hall, Donovan, Dylan, Willie, Burl Ives, Leonard Cohen, Don Williams and other pickers…will be some duets with Patty-Anne by artists such as The Everly Brothers, Dolores Keane, Stephen Foster, Norman Greenbaum and more.
Fine food, fine wine, good music, good friends. Stroll on down to the waterfront on Thursday, right on down to Zola’s On The Water, 16374 Lower Harbor Rd, Brookings-Harbor. Remember, folk music works wonders on just about everything.
Some might say "Playin’ ain’t much of a livin’, boy." But will we endeavor to persevere?
I reckon so…
