What is this?
Join Ashland, OR author Sue DeMarinis for a discussion of her book, The Station Master's Wife : A Scandalous Life Exposed, where characters come alive through vintage photos and historic news. After the presentation, the author will have books available to purchase and sign.
About the author:
Author S.K. (Sue) DeMarinis, a pioneer herself in 1984 as the first woman chiropractor in Ashland, retired after 30 years in practice and turned, in the past 3 years, to writing novels. In-depth research of her Victorian home uncovered the original owner, the first Station Master of the new 1884 railroad in Ashland. Sue’s desire to investigate further directed her to Census and ancestry records, old newspapers, vintage photos, and County records that revealed colorful local history and scandalous stories from which a strong pioneer woman emerged with unending love for her children and changing community. Storytelling is a passion for Sue, especially when bringing to life a Victorian woman who graciously persevered in the face of repetitive calamity and humiliation.
