It’s TUNE TIME with BOB at the KHUN THAI…SATURDAY Nov. 26th from 6 - 8pm ❗️
Bob Dylan and I had a revealing conversation. It was in a hotel lobby just before Britain's second Isle Of Wight Music Festival, back in 1969. During a speedily organized press appearance by Bob, where he was positioned in the middle of a long table, surrounded by members of The Band and then manager Albert Grossman, I was finally able to ask him the ultimate question of that year…able to say absolutely outright, "Is it really true that you broke your neck in a motorcycle accident?" He replied:
"Well you tell me."
That was the one and only interview I ever had with Bob Dylan and and I''ll stand by all four words of it. However, this Saturday I will expand on words from Bob and those emanating from many other famous songwriters by way of musical works from such as Doc Watson, The Animals, Donovan, Paul McCartney, Townes Van Zandt, John Prine, Paul Simon, Willie Nelson, Gordon Lightfoot, Little Feat, Tim Hardin, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Merle Haggard, The Dubliners and other classic melody makers.
I shall do me utmost to make it a fine social and musical evening for you on Saturday. The wonderful Khun Thai staff will add food that will delight you, accompanied by excellent on-tap beers and fine wines.
Enjoy a fabulously tasty Thai meal and let me set it to music in the comfy atmosphere of the Khun Thai Restaurant, 925 Chetco Ave, Brookings, OR 97415. For more information, call (541) 412-0555.
It'll be a grand evening, sez all them composers…
